Apple says that it shipped 2,496,000 Macintosh computers during it’s third quarter – the highest number ever!This represented a 41 percent growth in unit sales.

Apple also achieved a 43 percent revenue growth in Q3.

It sold 11,011,000 iPods during the quarter – up 12 percent in unit terms over the same quarter last year.

It also shipped 717,000 iPhone units compared to 270,000 a year ago.

The company’s revenes for the quarter (ended 28th June 2008) were $7.46 billion and net quarterly profit was $1.07 billion.

Apple says that its gross margin was 34.8 percent and that international sales accounted for 42 percent of the quarters revenue.
